Cataract is a natural aging process of the lens inside your eyes, where the lens gets cloudy and yellow. Most cataracts develop slowly over the years. With early cataracts, visual acuity and vision that is measured in office may still be useful, even 20/20. Yet, the quality of the image can suffer, especially in low light and ‘glare-y’ conditions. Early on, prescription updates can help give more clarity. Eventually, cataract surgery is needed to improve vision. Dr. Nguyen/Dr. Kawa can help answer questions and decided when a surgical consult is needed.
